New Waters

As soon as the lightning strikes
the water
the sky dims, the smoke swims
around the union.
Rage quells, sea swells,
the night becomes cold and dark again.

As soon as your fingers
graze my trembling shoulders
the fear dims, hope swims
around my wretched soul.
Doubt quells, my smile swells,
you become my saviour
day by day again.

The first poems I ever wrote, like the one above, were ridiculous. But first attempts at scaling uncharted territories usually are quite stupid. Writing, still remains to me, as something I can never master.
